You know how much I love cocktails, and the cocktail program at Salazar is helping to change cocktail culture in Cincinnati. Bar manager Steven Clement is constantly trying new things, and some of his creations — including the almost-famous Bruce Banner– are some of my favorite cocktails in the city. For Thanksgiving, try this cocktail that will remind you of picking apples in Kentucky. Bourbon, apples and cloves combine for a delicious fall sipper.
Thanksgiving Cocktail: Steven Clement's Orchard Ride

Recipe type: Cocktail
- 2 oz. four roses yellow label bourbon
- 1 oz. fresh apple juice
- 0.5 oz. lime juice
- 0.5 oz. simple syrup
- Shake with 5 whole cloves, strain
- Grate nutmeg over top.
- Combine the four roses yellow label bourbon, fresh apple juice, lime juice and simple syrup with light ice to your shaker. Add 5 cloves just before shaking, and don¹t kill it when you shake, be gentle. Pour into a coup or martini glass and grate fresh nutmeg over top. Enjoy, imbibe and remember, ³What grows together goes together."
