Food and Art at the CAC

Last summer, the Contemporary Arts Center had craft lessons on selected Mondays. You could learn to knit a project, sew– all sorts of things.

Now, they’re expanding to food.

Here’s the schedule– you can learn to make beer, sushi, paint with wine… all kinds of things.

June

Monday, June 24th, 6-8pm, One Night One Craft: Dairy Day with Snowville Dairy
Put on your apron and learn how to create dairy concoctions that include yogurt, cheese and ice cream with our friends from Snowville Dairy.

One Night One Craft/ Film Screening
Jiro Dreams of Sushi with Fusian and AIGA
We will start the night with the contemporary sushi masters from Fusian as they demonstrate the art of American sushi rolling. Afterwards enjoy a free AIGA film screening of Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
Free Admission.

One Night One Craft The Art of Brewing: Rivertown Brewing Company
Join Jonathan Lane, Rivertown Brand Manager to learn the difference between a Lager and an Ale, and just what goes into a Stout. The evening will include a tasting and tips for home brewers and beer enthusiasts.

One Night One Craft Vintage Views of the City: Painting with Wine
You don’t need to know how to draw to join Professor John Humphries as he shows us another use for some of our favorite drinks. Wine, coffee, and a few other beverages will help you tint, tone, and color sketched views of Cincinnati. This technique lends itself to speed, so be prepared to create 5-6 drawings.

August 26 • 6:00-8:00pm
One Night One Craft Beer Crafting!
Cincinnati is known for one thing and it’s not flying pigs – Beer! Join Portland’s Crafter Extraordinaire Shawn Bowman as she blazes through some of her favorite crafts using beer caps, labels, and ephemera as her materials. End the night with a drink at our Crafter Party at Arnolds Bar and Grill where you can pepper Bowman with your crafting dilemmas and hang out with Cincinnati’s own crafting goddess Pam Kravetz.
