Venice On Vine Starts Bicycle Delivery

Trey and Venice on Vine's TrikeCincinnati is slowly embracing urban living: first, pedicabs, now the second business in the area is doing food deliveries via bicycle.

Venice on Vine, a restaurant that not only serves pizza and hoagies, but enables people to get their GED and gives them service skills that will take them to a new job, is joining Pho Lang Thang in doing delivery downtown and in Over-the-Rhine.

The delivery person, Trey Gruber, was a successful bicycle delivery person in Chicago, and when he heard that Venice on Vine wanted to start delivery, he felt it was a natural fit for him and his interest in the city.  The current vehicle is an (admittedly uncomfortable-looking) Schwinn tricycle from the 70s.  “We just want people to ask, “hey, what’s that?”  When delivery demand increases, I’ll use some of my own delivery bikes.”

Venice on Vine delivers their entire menu (sans gelato) for a flat fee of $2 anywhere in Over-the-Rhine and most of the Central Business District, and reserve the right to cancel deliveries in inclement weather. They accomodate vegan and gluten-free diners.  Check out their menu here.
