Events: Art of Food and People Working Cooperatively Oscar Party

Two cool events coming up next week: Art of Food and People Working Cooperatively’s Oscar Party.

The Oscar Party is at the Hilton again this year on Sunday, February 26 at 5:30 p.m., with food by Todd Kelly and Megan Ketover and mixology by Erin Ennis. It’s an official Oscar-sanctioned event which benefits PWC, which helps people in need maintain their homes.

The menu:

Salad – Assorted bitter greens and lime cilantro vinaigrette, citrus segments, avocado and smoked paprika spiced walnuts

Entrée – Duet of salmon and grilled sirloin

Dessert – Dark chocolate s’more tart with graham cracker crust, toasted white chocolate marshmallow and passion fruit Gelee

Signature Drink – Blackberry Bourbon Bullet – mulled blackberries, honey simple syrup and Four Roses Bourbon

Tickets are still available for $150 at People Working Cooperatively’s website, where you can also bid on silent auction items if you’re unable to attend. I’ll be attending as a special food correspondent, so be sure to follow me on Twitter on Oscar night for movie and food commentary.

Art of Food, another favorite event has their gala opening at the Carnegie in Covington on Friday, March 2 from 6-9 p.m.  Cost to attend The Art of Food opening reception is $50 for non-members and $35 for members in advance; $60 for non-members and $45 for members at the door.   You’ll sample bites from the following list of chefs and culinary artists:
