(Guest post by The Better Half)
I’m a lucky guy.
The Lady of the Blog, between business travel and the occasional double-booking on her busy social calendar, has no choice but send me occasionally to cover events for wine me, dine me.
Her loss is my gain.
Such was the case on Thursday night when she asked me to attend Skyline Chili’s V.I.P. party for this weekend’s Crosstown Shootout between the Xavier Musketeers and the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
Even if you’re not a sports fan, you probably know that this is widely regarded as the premier sporting event in the city each year. A couple of days ahead of the game itself, Skyline throws a bash for guests and the media at the Skyline at the intersection of 4th and Sycamore Streets.
Guests are treated to virtually anything from the regular Skyline menu, as well as additional desserts and refreshments. Drawings are held for Shootout prizes, Skyline gift cards, and game tickets. UC coach Mick Cronin and XU coach Chris Mack field questions from guests. And ESPN 1530’s Mo Egger broadcasts live from the event.
