It’s a big food festival weekend! Two great ones to try out:
Farmer’s Fair is in its second year, focusing on the locavore movement with keynote speakers The Accidental Farmers. There’s lots of local food (Neltner’s Farm, Sensitive Epicure, Fab Ferments, Streetpops, Snowville Creamery and Park + Vine, to name a few) and demonstrations by Steve Geddes (Local 127), Josh Durr (Hawthorn Beverages), and Maggie Green. It’s all happening in Covington in the Roebling Entertainment District on Saturday, from 11-5. There’s parking in the area, as well as a bike valet.
Asian Food Fest is also going on this weekend, both Saturday (4 PM- midnight) and Sunday (2PM-9PM) at the Kolping Center in Mt. Healthy. This is a pan-Asian festival, with Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Filipino and Vietnamese cultures represented in both food and activities. The list of food is almost overwhelming, and is provided by restaurants like Ameriasia, Pho Lang Thang, Tea n Bowl and Streetpops (they’re everywhere this weekend!). It’s $1 at the door.
