As I walked to the Yelp party at Soho Sushi, I spotted a gleaming Airstream trailer in the parking lot across from Jean-Robert’s table. I should have taken a picture in bright sunlight, but instead I walked by after dark and grabbed this shot. Even in the street light, the shiny aluminum is blinding. “How long has that trailer been here?” I asked the valet. “Oh, a couple of days.”
So, welcome, Cincinnati, to Turophilia, which translates from Latin to mean “lover of cheese”. Appropriate, no? They make “eclectic quesadillas”, including:
The Bobby Woo: A sushi inspired dilla. Shrimp, avocado, wasabi-rice, cream cheese, monterey jack and topped off with spicy mayo!! MMM..delish!
The Black Keys: Because it rocks that much! Pesto, black olives, artichokes, onion, garlic-oil blend, mozzarella, and goat cheese. Add jalapeno for a lil’ more rock!
TY’s Cheesesteak: Marinated top round roast beef, red peppers, onion, garlic, white cheddar and monterey jack cheeses, and topped off with cilantro cream sauce.
The Sushi Dave: Smoked salmon, cream cheese, wasabi rice, scallions, and topped off with spicy mayo!
The Jack White: A tribute to the White Stripes and all his other awesome creations. Roasted red peppers, black olives, garlic, and feta cheese.
The Nietzsche: A vegetarian ‘Dilla. Roasted red pepper, onion, garlic, spinach, goat cheese.
Buona Vita: Refried beans, spanish rice, bruschetta, chihuahua cheese, and local italian restaurant Buona Vita’s secret spicy,creamy, calabrese sauce. Yum!!
Surf vs. Turf: Marinated steak and shrimp with a butter bernaise sauce and monterey jack cheeses.
The Beastie Boy- Grilled 5 cheese mac n cheese inside a tortilla. Top it off with bacon and green chilie peppers!! Did I mention it’s grilled before it goes in.. Yeah, it’s fabulous.
The Marito- Italian meats, provolone, peppers, onion, italian dressing and spices, mayo. Marry this one!!
Turkey Bacon Avocado- It is what it is.
