Giveaway and Benefit: UC’s Celebrating Research Innovations for an Epilepsy Cure

Do you like wine? Do you want to donate to a good cause while having fun?

A benefit for UC’s Epilepsy Research Center will take place on Sunday, October 17th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati. Guests will be treated to a selection of food by the bite from Ember’s restaurant, exceptional wine, and an exclusive “Sommelier’s Tasting Room,” where guests may sample a variety of rare and tantalizing wines and visit with master winemakers. Dozens of wines from the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list will be available to taste or purchase, making this one of the premier wine events in the Midwest.

Event proceeds support the Epilepsy Center at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute, a national leader in epilepsy research, patient care, and the training of tomorrow’s epilepsy specialists. In 2009 the UC Epilepsy Center led more than 17 major research projects with more than $2.5 million in sponsored research support.

Tickets are $60, $25 for YPs (under 32) and you can register here: www.regonline.com/epilepsy. I’m also giving away a pair of tickets right here at WMDM! To win:
1. Comment below telling me about your favorite wine– whether it’s a varietal or a specific bottling.
2. Tweet the contest (it’ll show up here).
3. Post the contest on FB (you’ll need to comment here again so I know you did!)
4. Post the contest on your blog and link to it here.

That’s a possibility of 4 chances to win. Since it’s October 17, I will draw a winner on October 15, and you must a) be able to attend on October 17 and b) be able to pick them up from me on October 16.

Good luck!

(Disclosure: I am a member of the UC A&S Alumni Advisory Board, which has nothing to do with this event, but I am connected to UC. UC also provided me with tickets as well.)
