Amy with Cincy Chic here! I’m doing a guest blog for Julie today because I just got a sneek peak into Bartini’s downtown!
My husband’s best friend’s sister (follow that?) Beth just got a job at the new Bartini’s downtown so I asked her if I could check out the space. I saw the window wraps around the defunct Oceanaire that said “Bartini’s Coming Soon” in early Spring, and then Julie wrote a post about it in April.
I didn’t hear anything about it for months, and then Beth told me she got the job there and their grand opening was planned for Aug. 19! She showed me the space… and it’s still not completely finished … but it looks great!
Reminds me a little of FB’s with the black and white flourish wallpaper, but there’s a ton more space. I really loved the oversized black and white photos in distressed gold frames (photos below). The Oceanaire’s bar is pretty much the same, of course, minus the oysters now. There will be a big VIP area, too. I didn’t see it, but Beth said it’ll be a nice area – sectioned off from the rest of the bar with curtains – for hosting birthday parties, corporate events, etc.
There’s a huge dance floor, too. Beth said there will be a lighting installment over the dance floor that will change colors and pulse to the beat. Trippy! I hear Midwest Latino is moving his Wednesday Salsa Nights to Bartini’s … they were previously hosted at Havana Martini Club.
Here’s what all their weekly specials will be: Monday will be Martini Mondays ($5 signature martinis), Jazz Tuesdays (jazz showcase with $5 select house wine by the glass), Salsa Night Wednesdays (live DJ, dancing, $3 coronas, $5 mojitos), Rewind Thursdays (Q102 playing music from 70s/80s/90s – bottle specials at $70/$80/$90), Drop Dead Gorgeous Fridays (largest ladies night dance party with Kiss 107 – free cover for ladies before 10pm and select martini specials), Dance Party Saturdays (drink and food specials), Super Sundays (select $3 cocktails, $3 beers & $3 shots with guest bartenders).
I was happy to learn that it’s not just martinis, too, as Julie expressed concern about in her April blog. Beth said they’re going to have a killer mojito, actually! They also have a HUGE kitchen – assuming just kept the same from Oceanaire – in which they’ll be making a variety of tapas, flatbreads, salads and desserts (they hope to soon add more desserts than what the menu lists below).
Beth sent me this info about the Bartini’s Cincinnati Grand Opening party:
August 19, 2010
VIP Party 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (not sure how you get into this, but stay tuned to their Facebook Group page and they might release that info soon)
Doors Open to General Public 7:00 PM
I can’t wait to see the finished product and try out this mysteriously good mojito. They were finishing the floors when I was there, so it’ll be see neat to see everything without a layer of dust on it! Check out the pics below that I snapped with my Blackberry, and the tapas/martini menu they sent me. They were still adding things on the menu as of today, so this might not be what you see in print on Aug. 19, but it’ll be close!
I’ll be there on the 19th to check it out. Hope to see you there, too!
