The Farmer’s Fair in Covington (second annual!) is this Saturday, August 28, from 10 AM to 10 PM. It features chefs from the Relish Group; Jay Denham, the curemaster for Woodlands Pork, Dojo Gelato, the Sensitive Epicure (gluten-free), Fab Ferments, Dad’s Favorite Cheeses, and several other participants in a “farmer’s market” area.
It also features Ed Begley Jr, who will speak on sustainable living and Berlin Reed, who writes The Ethical Butcher. I wish there were a better schedule up, as I’d really like to see Berlin Reed’s cooking demonstration (I’m currently reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, so I can’t help but be interested in ethical animal care and butchery).
It will be held in the Roebling Entertainment District, just south of the Roebling Suspension Bridge, and they’re featuring free bike valet and emphasizing public transit routes over cars. Pretty neat. For more information, head to the event’s webpage.
