Right now, the Taft Museum is featuring the Dutch Masters– you know, like Rembrandt– and folks you might not be as familiar with in an exhibit called Dutch Utopia. They’ve been doing some events for the YP community– and they asked me to “host” an event. I’ll be presenting some chocolate history and wine pairings at the Taft with a Twist: Dutch Treats event at the Taft Museum, starting at 6 PM on March 25, 2010, starting at 6 PM. I’m in the process (ha! Dutch Process! Okay, that was geeky…) of selecting the chocolates (the wines have been selected by Evelyn Ignatow at Hyde Park Gourmet Food and Wine) and getting together my quick, Ignite-style presentation. I hope you’ll join! Here are the details, from the Taft’s website:
Indulge in a more grown-up version of cookies and milk. Savor delicious chocolates paired with distinctive ports at Taft with a Twist: Dutch Treats.
Join Wine Me, Dine Me Cincinnati blogger Julie Niesen as she takes you on a tour of delicious chocolates, plus the perfect dessert wines to accompany them. Enjoy specially selected chocolates from Hyde Park Gourmet Food & Wine, with details provided by owner Evelyn Ignatow, and find out how to indulge in these after-dinner treats at home!
Sample chocolates and ports with your friends, stroll through the Taft’s galleries on a tour of “Handsome Holland Hunks,” and see the special exhibition Dutch Utopia: American Artists in Holland, 1880–1914.
