Gourmet Magazine, the “granddaddy” of all food magazines (and the magazine that recently featured Cincinnati’s own Tucker’s) is going out of business. According to Time Magazine, their content will be rolled into Epicurious.com, at least in part.
Pretty sad– they just released their new cookbook, Gourmet Today as a companion to their already-famous Big Yellow Book. I always loved reading the magazine, and gazing longingly at the pictures and tablesettings.
I subscribe to Saveur and Bon Appetit, but not Gourmet– not sure why, I like it quite a bit and have a stack of back issues. Do you subscribe to magazines? Have recipe blogs changed the way you approach your cooking needs? Are average people more likely to get recipes off of the web than through magazines or cookbooks?
