Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving PrepBig things happening here at Chez wine me, dine me.  Terry and I are preparing for a big meal involving a lot of people you just might know– you’ll have to stay tuned tomorrow for a big post about it.

For now, lots of food is cooking (or in the fridge), and we’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and eating cereal, because that’s what Thanksgiving Morning is for.

(Cap’n Crunch for Terry, Kellogg’s Smart Start for me, if you’re wondering.  I’ve never liked kid cereals.  Terry loves ’em.)

I’m pretty darn thankful for all of the blessings that have come my way this year– tons of friends, great experiences and new opportunities.  Plus I have a great guy to share them with.  Who could ask for more?

What are you thankful for?

  • i would KILL to even be able to walk the t-day parade while sitting on the couch – let alone while eating REAL cereal. none of this muesli crap europeans love so much.

much love from amsterdam. happy turkey day 🙂

  • Our crazy friends, there is a great quote from Jack Kerouac that goes something like (if my damn iPhone.would copy paste I would get it exactly) “the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones that go off like flaming yellow Roman candles” why be normal, that’s no fun.

  • So far so good! Stuff is in the oven and I have yet to cut, burn or otherwise injure myself, despite an oddly complex method to a new recipe. Yay.

    Looking forward to tonight. 🙂

  • We’re on time for about a 7:30 dinner time, with 6-7:30 being cocktail hour (and also “get drunk before my mother gets there hour”). 😛 I have to pick her up.

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Dinner was spectacular, and the company was stunning. You and T went out of your way to make us feel welcome, well fed and thoroughly entertained! It was one of the best Thanksgivings I’ve had in recent years! Can’t wait to see the blog post…

  • Thanks for a wonderful get-together Julie! Excellent food and equally as wonderful company. I’m going to have to make the trip from Denver for the 3rd annual festivities. I can’t wait to read your 24/24/24 blog about it.

  • Thanksgiving was great for my family. Sounds like you guys did it up right too. Fortunately for me, I just had to chase kids around in between watching boring, blowout football games while my twin chefs (brother, SIL) and my mom tended to the multiple items for our table.

I am thankful to be an American, living in a country like we do that has so much to offer to everyone, and to have the precious family and friends that I have.

Hope everyone else had a similar experience.
